O trabalho aborda questões bastante discutidas na contemporaneidade, buscando uma maior compreensão do pensamento filosófico na educação. Na tentativa de propor um entendimento da problemática em que se voltou a Filosofia da Educação, o estudo analisa as discussões controversas entre analíticos e continentais, reconhecendo em Habermas e Rorty a possibilidade de abandonar o pensamento idealista e subjetivo da tradição filosófica. O objetivo é refletir sobre as abordagens teóricas e metodológicas utilizadas nessas discussões, identificando as contribuições que a hermenêutica, o pragmatismo (...) e a filosofia da linguagem podem viabilizar à educação, assinalando a necessidade de desenvolver mudanças nos modos de se pensar e gerir a formação. Em defesa de uma produção semântica para o estudo filosófico no processo de formação de professores, o texto demarca algumas críticas à filosofia da educação por estar voltada apenas para a filosofia continental (antes da virada lingüística), relatando a pretensão de redescobrir o sujeito educativo na linguagem. O estudo, voltado às discussões filosóficas mais atuais do mundo ocidental, pretende incitar a concretização das propostas de grandes aportes teóricos do pensamento, possibilitando repensar o modelo da pedagogia tradicional à luz de novos critérios de avaliação, desenvolvendo através da linguagem, um novo espírito para o estudo da filosofia da educação. Essa reabertura, permite repensar a imagem da filosofia contemporânea e suas implicações educacionais, facilitando a ultrapassagem dos limites conceituais das teorias filosóficas dogmáticas, presas ao historicismo, reconstruindo o cenário teórico baseado no entendimento pragmático e hermenêutico da situação atual. O artigo pretende abordar o tema da moralidade no campo da Educação a par tir da transição da discussão de Freud a Adorno, potencializada pela compreensão da biopolítica de Foucault e Agamben. O objetivo é fazer a crítica ao ato de discriminar e direcionar o destino das verbas públicas não para a Educação, e sim em prol de valores do mercado. O tema da moralidade está sendo utilizado largamente como expediente de formação de massas com características fascistas no Brasil atual, (...) o que demanda um esforço hermenêutico para repensar suas premissas filosóficas e psicanalíticas. Não se trata somente de investigar o papel positivo que desempenham os agrupamentos que trabalham em prol de causas elevadas. Mais do que isso, interessa compreender como eles se unem em torno de pautas conservadoras e que se utilizam do escudo da moral, em tempos de pós-verdade, como forma de distração dos reais problemas enfrentados pela vida pública brasileira. Com isso, é possível mergulhar na psique das massas, percebendo que a falta de distanciamento ou identificação entre o eu e o ideal do eu é um dos principais motivos À emergência de uma biopolítica da moralidade que leva ao comportamento massificado do indivíduo. Quando renuncia ao seu ideal do eu para adotar atitudes e comportamentos padronizados, acaba por abolir a sua instância moral e passa a operar sem apoio no narcisismo. Deixa, assim, de aspirar à sua própria autoafirmação, focando todos os seus esforços no ideal do coletivo, sem perceber que paga o preço da renúncia a si mesmo que leva à heteronomia, cujas normas são prescritas pela sociedade. This illustration aims to present the contributions of religion, as an alert, to the distancing from different types of criminality. It identifies which benefits the religious experience, more specifically, the feelings of faith and religiosity. It brings to the person who is in a situation of delinquency and the margin of society, due to his acts committed against the norms established for the harmonious coexistence of society. In addition, it seeks to present social factors intertwined with the criminality situation, that (...) is, elements that can contribute to the individual’s inclination towards disgrace. Therefore, in the execution of the present study, bibliographic research was used, based on books and scientific articles. In addition, theses and similar monographs were also consulted, whose main bases are the illustrations of the Frenchman, René Girard, who presents his theories of mimetic desire and scapegoat. There is also support from other authors, among them, Friedrich Nietzsche, Karl Marx and Jessé Souza. Consequently, it presents several contributions that religion can promote to people who are in a situation of criminality, as well as sought to identify the role of religion within a society. Thus, the text aims to expose some of the contributions of religion that were found in the bibliographic research carried out, in order to understand how the feeling of faith and religiosity can benefit people in general, but also those who today, for certain reasons, are in an unfavorable situation, that is, in a situation of delinquency and also those who may be inclined to acts considered anti-social. O artigo procura analisar o tema da espiritualidade diante de eventos catastróficos, investigando como a educação pode contribuir para a reconstrução das mazelas provocadas por tais episódios. Na formação docente é importante levar em conta a consolidação da normatividade e a expressividade do sentido como meio de compreender como os traumas e catástrofes tomaram-se parte do nosso cotidiano. Eles vêm ocupar um lugar vazio de sentido, pois as pessoas só se sensibilizam diante de imagens chocantes. A discussão gira em torno (...) do pensamento de Viktor Frankl, especialmente a partir de sua obra “A Presença Ignorada de Deus”, prevendo a contribuição da espiritualidade para a discussão do tema na perspectiva hermenêutica. O dilema situa-se em uma educação que permanece na reprodução de modelos ou uma educação que desperta os educandos para visualizarem novos horizontes, permitindo que novos saberes aconteçam nos ambientes escolares, entre eles a espiritualidade que auxilia em “saber expressar” e “saber prevenir”, ou saber priorizar o sentido do humano em todas as ações. Nesse caso, a educação pode colaborar na discussão sobre a relação da espiritualidade com as catástrofes, oportunizando a compreensão da realidade espiritual através da hermenêutica e, assim, as possibilidades de tratamento do tema de forma a não separar os sujeitos dos acontecimentos que os condicionam a agir daquela forma. Nessa perspectiva, a educação tem seu potencial humanizador reforçado, ao tecer entrecruzamentos entre a educação e a Logoterapia, discutindo o tema numa dimensão emancipadora. Assim, a espiritualidade na educação tem como pretensão dissipar o frio existencial, fazer derreter o inverno gélido do coração do homem contemporâneo nas suas relações pessoais e comunitárias. Atualmente não se pode negar a influência que a ciência tem sobre a sociedade. Com efeito, não podemos esquecer que esta mesma ciência se isolou das reflexões sobre o ser humano, sobre os valores éticos e mesmo sobre seus próprios fins. Portanto, ao falar em ciências e seu uso no processo ensinoaprendizagem nos remete ao pensamento da teoria clássica: onde todos os estudantes e, inclusive o professor, sairão satisfeitos. Ao contrário, o que se verifica atualmente é o oposto. Alunos desmotivados (...) e professores insatisfeitos. Como isto pode acontecer se temos cada vez mais acesso aos recursos tecnológicos? As novas tecnologias presentes nas escolas não têm facilitado esse processo? Como as teorias cientificas podem ser usadas em sala de aula e como podem favorecer a construção do conhecimento no educando são questões que remetem à preocupação do autor em contribuir com uma tendência no ensino de ciências na Amazônia que vá em direção de uma educação em ciências que rompa com os estreitos limites da ciência atual.Currently there is no denying the influence that science has on society. Indeed, we can not forget that this same science has isolated itself from the reflections on human beings, on ethical values and even about their own ends. Therefore, when speaking on science and its use in teaching-learning process brings us to the thought of the classical theory: where all students and even teachers, they will leave satisfied. Instead, what we see today is the opposite. Unmotivated teachers and students dissatisfied. How can this happen if we have more access to technological resources? New technologies present in the schools do not have facilitated this process? As scientific theories can be used in the classroom and how they can encourage the construction of knowledge in the student are issues that relate to the concern of the author in contributing to a trend in science education in the Amazon that goes toward a science education that break with the narrow limits of current science. O objetivo do artigo é examinar os Primeiros Princípios Metafísicos da Ciência da Natureza de Kant, obra-chave para a interpretação das filosofias da natureza do idealismo alemão, no interior d’“A Arquitetônica da Razão Pura”, a saber, como uma metafísica aplicada da substância corporal. Para tanto será inicialmente discutida a distinção, feita no prefácio à obra, entre uma parte transcendental e outra metafísico-específica da metafísica da natureza, surgindo aqui a concepção de matéria enquanto movente no espaço como conceito empírico mínimo para (...) a constituição do objeto de uma metafísica da substância corporal. Na sequência, a oposição entre princípios transcendentais e princípios metafísicos será abordada como crucial para compreender como os princípios transcendentais da Crítica da Razão Pura se transformam nos princípios da física newtoniana. Speech recognition plays an important role in digital transformation. It is widely used in different areas such as education, industry, and healthcare and has recently been used in many Internet of Things and Machine Learning applications. The process of speech recognition is one of the most difficult processes in computer science. In this novel account of global citizenship, Luis Cabrera argues that all individuals have a global duty to contribute directly to human rights protections and to promote rights-enhancing political integration between states. The Practice of Global Citizenship blends careful moral argument with compelling narratives from field research among unauthorized immigrants, activists seeking to protect their rights, and the 'Minuteman' activists striving to keep them out. Immigrant-rights activists, especially those conducting humanitarian patrols for border-crossers stranded in the brutal Arizona desert, (...) are shown as embodying aspects of global citizenship. Could global government be the answer to global poverty and starvation? Cosmopolitan thinkers challenge the widely held belief that we owe more to our co-citizens than to those in other countries. This book offers a moral argument for world government, claiming that not only do we have strong obligations to people elsewhere, but that accountable integration among nation-states will help ensure that all persons can lead a decent life. Cabrera considers both the views of those political philosophers who say we (...) have much stronger obligations to help our co-citizens than foreigners and those cosmopolitans who say our duties are equally strong to each but resist restructuring. He then outlines his own position, using the European Union as a partial model for the integrated alternative and advocating instituting EU-style supranational government, development aid, and free movement of persons in the Americas and other regions. Cosmopolitanism is said by many critics to be arrogant. In emphasizing universal principles and granting no fundamental moral significance to national or other group belonging, it wrongly treats those making non-universalist claims as not authorized to speak, while treating those in non-Western societies as not qualified. This book works to address such objections. It does so in part by engaging the work of B.R. Ambedkar, architect of India's 1950 Constitution and revered champion of the country's Dalits (formerly "untouchables"). Ambedkar cited (...) universal principles of equality and rights in confronting domestic exclusions and the "arrogance" of caste. He sought to advance forms of political humility, or the affirmation of equal standing within political institutions and openness to input and challenge within them. This book examines how an "institutional global citizenship" approach to cosmopolitanism could similarly advance political humility, in supporting the development of input and challenge mechanisms beyond the state. It employs a grounded normative theory method, taking insights for the model from field research among Dalit activists pressing for domestic reforms through the UN human rights regime, and from their critics in the Hindu nationalist Bharatiya Janata Party. Insights also are taken from Turkish protesters challenging a rising domestic authoritarianism, and from UK Independence Party members demanding "Brexit" from the European Union-in part because of possibilities that predominantly Muslim Turkey will join. Overall, it is shown, an appropriately configured institutional cosmopolitanism should orient fundamentally to political humility rather than arrogance, while holding significant potential for advancing global rights protections and more equitable rights specifications. Foundational ontologies, central constructs in ontological investigations and engineering alike, are based on ontological categories. Firstly proposed by Aristotle as the very ur- elements from which the whole of reality can be derived, they are not easy to identify, let alone partition and/or hierarchize; in particular, the question of their number poses serious challenges. The late medieval philosopher Dietrich of Freiberg wrote around 1286 a tutorial that can help us today with this exceedingly difficult task. In this paper, I discuss (...) ontological categories and their importance for foundational ontologies from both the contemporary perspective and the original Aristotelian viewpoint, I provide the translation from the Latin into English of Dietrich's De origine II with an introductory elaboration, and I extract a foundational ontology–that is in fact a single-category one–from this text rooted in Dietrich's specification of types of subjecthood and his conception of intentionality as causal operation. Ontologies are some of the most central constructs in today's large plethora of knowledge technologies, namely in the context of the semantic web. As their coinage indicates, they are direct heirs to the ontological investigations in the long Western philosophical tradition, but it is not easy to make bridges between them. Contemporary ontological commitments often take causality as a central aspect for the ur-segregation of entities, especially in scientific upper ontologies; theories of causality and philosophical ontological investigations often go hand-in-hand, (...) and were essentially inseparable in medieval thought. This constitutes the foundation for a bridge, and this article analyzes the causality-based ontology of the late medieval philosopher Dietrich of Freiberg from the viewpoint of today's upper-ontology engineering. In this bridging attempt, it offers a translation into English of the first part of Dietrich's De origine (abbreviated title) that is a compromise between traditional scholarly translations of medieval Latin philosophical texts and contemporary ontology. The van Wijngaarden grammars are two-level grammars that present many interesting properties. In the present article I elaborate on six of these properties, to wit, (i) their being constituted by two grammars, (ii) their ability to generate (possibly infinitely many) strict languages and their own metalanguage, (iii) their context-sensitivity, (iv) their high descriptive power, (v) their productivity, or the ability to generate an infinite number of production rules, and (vi) their equivalence with the unrestricted, or Type-0, Chomsky grammars.

This paper presents a brief contribution to the study of the historical sources of Kant’s practical philosophy, discussing the Kantian project of a metaphysics of morals as a doctrine of duties in the context of German natural law of the 17th and 18th centuries. At first, Christian Thomasius’ distinction between internal and external obligation is exposed as the basis for the differentiation between legal duties and ethical duties. Then the Kantian opposition between a doctrine of right and a doctrine of (...) virtue is discussed against the background of Alexander Baumgarten’s and Gottfried Achenwall’s reception of Thomasius. Este artigo tem como foco uma análise do texto “A mulher e a arte” (sem data), da escritora carioca Júlia Lopes de Almeida (1862-1934). Este escrito, recém-publicado na íntegra pela primeira vez, em revista acadêmica, constitui uma conferência da autora na qual ela expõe suas opiniões sobre o tema da arte de autoria feminina, tecendo uma série de críticas de cunho feminista à desigualdade entre os gêneros no espaço da criação artística. Em seu texto, a literata cita diversos nomes de (...) artistas e intelectuais mulheres, de modo a sustentar seu argumento em defesa da potência criativa feminina e assinalar a importância da transformação da cultura patriarcal. Assim, a partir do olhar historiográfico e embasados pela epistemologia feminista, buscamos ressaltar a conferência como fundamental para o estudo da escrita de autoria feminina e feminista no Brasil entre os séculos XIX e XX.Palavras-chave: Júlia Lopes de Almeida. In her text, Júlia lists several names of artists and women intellectuals, in order to support her argument in defense of the feminine creative power and point out the importance of the transformation of patriarchal culture. The notion of efficient proof-checking has always been central to complexity theory, and it gave rise to the definition of the class NP. In the last 15 years there has been a number of exciting, unexpected and deep developments in complexity theory that exploited the notion of randomized and interactive proof-checking. Results developed along this line of research have diverse and powerful applications in complexity theory, cryptography, and the theory of approximation algorithms for combinatorial optimization problems. RESUMO O artigo tem como objetivo pôr em questão duas objeções comumente lançadas contra a "Metafísica dos Costumes", a saber, a sua falta de "clareza sistemática" quando comparada com outras obras críticas centrais de Kant, e também a admissão aparentemente equivocada da legalidade como conceito legítimo de um sistema metafísico prático. Argumentar-se-á que a identificação do ato do livre arbítrio como conceito supremo do sistema permite responder às críticas lançadas ao, por um lado, apresentar um princípio de ordenação sistemática empregado (...) de forma análoga em outras obras reconhecidamente sistemáticas, e, por outro, justificar a posição central ocupada no sistema pelo ato correto ou conforme ao dever, ensejando a possibilidade de que tanto o Direito quanto a legalidade ética sejam concebidos como autênticos elementos de uma "Metafísica dos Costumes". ABSTRACT This paper casts doubt on two objections commonly raised against the "Metaphysics of Morals", namely, its lack of "systematic consistency" when compared with other central works of Kant's critical philosophy and also the apparently misleading admission of legality as a legitimate concept of his practical metaphysical system. It will be argued that the identification of the act of free choice as the supreme concept of the system allows us to face these criticisms firstly by presenting a principle of systematic arrangement which is employed in other admittedly systematic works, and secondly by justifying the central position occupied by the right act, or the action in conformity with duty in Kant's system of morals, which allows for the possibility that both Law and ethical legality be considered as authentic elements of a "Metaphysics of Morals". O presente artigo busca analisar o estabelecimento de uma comunidade de informações no exterior, com destaque para o Centro de Informações do Exterior em Portugal, após a Revolução dos Cravos, em abril de 1974. O CIEX estava vinculado ao Ministério das Relações Exteriores e tinha como objetivo repassar informações sobre a atividade de brasileiros exilados ou banidos residentes no exterior. Com o fim da ditadura em Portugal, muitos brasileiros que residiam em outras localidades migraram para aquele país. PurposeInternational organizations are working on an unprecedented number of development initiatives relevant to people with disabilities. This makes it essential for the global disability community to be able to participate effectively in the decision-making processes associated with these programs. In light of this, this study aims to explore whether information technologies can help create a more inclusive global governance, forming the basis for equitable development for people with disabilities.Design/methodology/approachThe results of a global survey of disabled people’s organizations’ leaders are discussed. This asked disability rights advocates about their experiences with accessibility and barriers to effective participation, low-cost accessible technological solutions for remote participation and freely available “off-the-shelf” online technologies – in particular social media platforms – to bridge the gap between the disability community and global governance processes.FindingsAlthough only a small number of international conferences offer accessible virtual participation through web conferencing and other tools, responses from DPO advocates suggest that there is a strong demand for this technology and provide evidence of its potential for improving accessibility in global governance. Furthermore, disability organizations all over the world have embraced social media platforms to liaise with their grassroots and enable them to part-take in policy-making processes.Originality/valueThis study highlights community-backed technological solutions to persisting barriers that systematically exclude people with disabilities from fundamental global governance processes, illuminating the nexus of disability, accessibility, and participation. Este estudo pretende discutir as relações existentes entre mídia e educação, analisando as políticas públicas que influenciaram a criação da TV Pendrive, identificando a percepção dos professores acerca da mesma. Justifica-se pelo fato de que no ano de 2007 o governo federal criou o Programa Nacional de Tecnologia Educacional (ProInfo), com o objetivo de informatizar o ensino, buscando promover uma educação com maior qualidade. Nesse contexto, a Secretaria de Estado da Educação do Paraná, com vistas à inclusão e ao acesso (...) de alunos e professores da rede pública estadual às novas tecnologias, criou o projeto TV Pendrive. Para a concretização desse estudo, foram realizadas pesquisas e análises bibliográficas, bem como um levantamento com professores da educação básica pública estadual da cidade de Londrina/PR, visando a identificar a percepção dos mesmos em relação à TV Pendrive. Como resultado, constatou-se que as políticas públicas, especialmente as voltadas à educação, parecem ser implantadas pelo governo sem a anuência dos educadores. (shrink)

For millennia, knowledge has eluded a precise definition. The industrialization of knowledge (IoK) and the associated proliferation of the so-called knowledge communities in the last few decades caused this state of affairs to deteriorate, namely by creating a trio composed of data, knowledge, and information (DIK) that is not unlike the aporia of the trinity in philosophy. This calls for a general theory of knowledge (ToK) that can work as a foundation for a science of knowledge (SoK) and additionally distinguishes (...) knowledge from both data and information. In this paper, I attempt to sketch this generality via the establishing of both knowledge structures and knowledge systems that can then be adopted/adapted by the diverse communities for the respective knowledge technologies and practices. This is achieved by means of a formal–indeed, mathematical–approach to epistemological matters a.k.a. formal epistemology.
